2022 Regular School District Election

Iron Mountain Public Schools will have two open full six-year terms and one partial four-year term Board of Education seats available in this year's Regular School Election on November 8, 2022.

Candidates who plan to run for their local school board in the November 2022 election must file an Affidavit of Identity and either a nonpartisan nominating petition or a nonrefundable fee with the Iron Mountain City Hall by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Failure to file an Affidavit of Identity and the petition or fee by this deadline will bar the candidate from appearing on the ballot. For more information or to obtain the Affidavit of Identity or petition, please contact Iron Mountain City Hall at 906-774-8530.

NOMINATION OF BOARD CANDIDATE(S) DUE TUESDAY, JULY 26, 2022 AT 4:00 PM:

Candidates seeking a school board position may file a $100 nonrefundable fee, as detailed below, in lieu of a petition:
  • School district with less than 10,000 in population according to the most recent federal census: minimum of 6 signatures; maximum of 20 signatures. A $100 nonrefundable fee may be filed in lieu of a petition.
  • School district with 10,000 or more in population according to the most recent federal census: minimum of 40 signatures; maximum of 100 signatures. A $100 nonrefundable fee may be filed in lieu of a petition.​
