Due to unsafe travel conditions, the Girls Varsity District basketball game vs. Gladstone High School scheduled for today, Monday 2/27/23 is postponed to:

The Boys Varsity basketball game vs. Gladstone High School scheduled for today, Monday 2/27/23 has been canceled and the status of the game will be communicated once the information is available. Parent/Senior Night and Cheer Clinic Performance has been canceled for tonight. If the game is rescheduled, then Parent/Senior Night and Cheer Clinic Performance will be held on the same night.

The Mountaineers will compete in the MHSAA Varsity Wrestling Individual Regional 13 will be held at Charlevoix High School on Saturday, February 18 at 9:30 AM. The Girls Regional will be held at Cadillac High School on Sunday, February 19 at 9:30 AM.

March is Reading Month- Welcome to Camp Read-A-Lot!

Dear North Elementary Families,

Our March is Reading Month celebration begins on Wednesday, March 1! Our theme this year is “Welcome to Camp Read-a-Lot"! We have fun reading and camping activities planned for each day in March. There will be book give-a-ways, Read and Feeds, New Books to Read, Dress up Days, Flashlight Fridays, Officer Ray, the IMHS Varsity Club, Trooper Geno, Elsa, and IMHS Pep Band have been invited to read to our students!

Thank you to our Iron Mountain Elementary PTO for providing the craft supplies!

We have attached a calendar so you can join us in celebrating reading each day in March!
All students will be entered to win books and prizes daily!

When to keep your student home from school

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we continue through this cold and flu season, we would like to share some things to keep in mind when your student is sick.

When to keep your Student home from School

Fever: A student has a temperature of more than 100°F by mouth. The student should not return until 24 hours of no fever, without fever-reducing medications.

Diarrhea: A student that has two loose or watery stools, even if there are no other signs of illness. The student should have no loose stools for 24 hrs prior to returning to school.
Exception: A healthcare provider has determined it is not infectious.

Vomiting: A student who has vomited in the last 24 hr period should be kept home. The student should have no vomiting episodes for 24 hrs prior to returning to school.
Exception: A Healthcare provider has determined it is not infectious.

Rash or infection of the skin: Keep the student home until rash subsides or until a healthcare provider determines it is not infectious.

Eye infection: The student has yellow or green discharge from the eye(s). The student should stay home and be seen by a healthcare provider. If an antibiotic is prescribed, the student should have started antibiotic drops 24 hrs prior to returning to school.

Please be sure to call the student in as absent and/or provide a doctor’s note if there was an office visit. We understand the importance that school attendance plays in each student's school success. We also find that if a student returns to school too soon after an illness they will not function as well. We hope this helps when making decisions concerning when to send your student to school. If you have any questions or concerns, please call to speak with one of our school nurses.

Patrons are advised that all MHSAA tickets must be purchased through the website, www.gofan.co, or the GoFan iPhone app. The cost per ticket is $7.00, which must be purchased using a credit or debit card.
DISTRICT AND SENIOR SPORT PASSES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Please follow the link below or select “Search Schools” and then search “Iron Mountain High School” on GoFan website to purchase your tickets.
It is recommended to sign up for a GoFan account with an email you have mobile access to, in case you have issues at the gate.

Once tickets are purchased, ticket(s) must be presented at the time of entrance using a mobile phone.
Printed tickets will not be accepted.
