Graduation is fast approaching and I would like to take this opportunity to remind students about the necessity of appropriate behavior so as to not impact your ability to participate in the graduation ceremony. This serves as a reminder that any Senior who participates in a senior prank that results in school destruction and cost of time will be passed onto the student(s) and families and could potentially impact the student's ability to walk at graduation. Additionally, if the prank is of more serious nature it will be turned over to the local police department. Diplomas will not be held but a student participating in the ceremony is a privilege and can be removed as a result of behavior. Graduation is intended to be an exciting and happy time. Please do not compromise that by making a bad decision.
Furthermore, students are required to wear their cap and gowns, additional decoration, aside from chords, etc is not permitted and the student will be asked to remove it. If a student chooses to decorate their cap they may do so but they will be approved prior to the start of the ceremony by school personnel. If a student's cap has inappropriate language, pictures, context the cap will not be approved and a standard replacement will be given.
CHANGE: Graduation practice was originally set for May 25th, there are many conflicts that no longer make this an option. Graduation practice will now be May 26th at 1:15 PM at Mountaineer Stadium. In the event that the location is changed due to weather, which will be called prior to Friday then the location will be at the Izzo Gym. Please note as of right now we are planning for the STADIUM.
Sincerely,
Ms. Galvan
