All parents and guardians of Senior IMHS students are asked to attend the Senior Parent Meeting on Wednesday, October 12 and the Financial Aid and Scholarship Night on Wednesday, October 19.
The meetings begin at 6:00 PM in the High School Auditorium, which is located on the second floor. Thank you! Dear Mountaineer Parents and Guardians,
We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. We value input from our community – and we need to hear from your child or children! Students are important partners as we work to improve our communication, academic program and overall experience for everyone. In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we will be asking for your child’s feedback through online surveys they will be completing at school. The surveys shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes to complete. We are asking that our third through twelfth grade students participate in the surveys during school hours, as their feedback will provide invaluable insights into their experiences, so we can improve our district and help support their individual needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys. The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on their overall experience of school and their perception of their own self-efficacy, self-management, social awareness, emotion regulation, and supportive relationships. Please notify us by Friday, September 23rd if you would like your child to opt out of taking the surveys by contacting Allison Cevigney. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (906)779-2610 ext. 4815 or cevigneya@imschools.org. We are also currently surveying all Iron Mountain Public School families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district effectiveness. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. Please complete the anonymous school/school safety survey relating to your student’s school(s) below before October 24, 2022: Link https://surveys.panoramaed.com/dickinsoniron North Elementary Code: 5174095071 East Elementary Code: 4080328458 Central Middle Code: 6930224514 Iron Mountain High Code: 3256461908 Sincerely, Allison Cevigney School Success Coach Congratulations to our own Aziza Burgoon and Riley Gauthier who are two of 62,000 students from across the country to earn academic honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Programs! These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups through College Board’s Student Search Service.
Aziza and Riley earned this recognition by excelling on their PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or AP Exams and in their classrooms. Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and are attending a school in a rural area or small town. |
