During his visit, the Mountaineer spoke about his college, post baccalaureate, and professional experiences, including traveling to Greenland to study climate his junior year. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about options available to them after their time at Iron Mountain High School. Marc shared the importance of chemistry, biology, and mathematics in his line of study.
Marc graduated from IMHS in 2016 and from the University of Michigan in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science (BSE) in Aerospace Engineering. This spring, he graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with his MSE Aerospace with a focus on conceptual system design, resilient systems, trajectory optimization and sizing of spacecraft. Now, Marc is working on his PhD in Aerospace at Georgia Tech. The class was interested in his working thesis on the concept of self-healing buildings!
Marc stressed the importance of taking on intimidating goals and concepts “day by day, and all the sudden you will realize, that you are also doing something super cool that you never really thought you were going to be able to do.”
Marc, you make #MountaineersEverywhere proud and we are so grateful for your visit. It was great to see you! Thank you!
