Reminders to Seniors
Dear Class of 2025 and Parents/Guardians,
As the days wind down, here are a few reminders for Seniors. The last day for seniors is Friday, May 16th. Attendance and grades still have an impact on seniors until the end of the school day on the 16th. If you have any questions about grades, please reach out to your/child’s teacher.
In addition, if a student has more than eight absences (excused or unexcused) in a semester, they lose credit. The credit may be recovered by achieving a 77% or higher on the final exam. Please review our attendance policy on page 12 of the *2024-2025 Student Handbook*.
Letters were sent home in the event a senior still has an outstanding balance/fee. Please make sure to have any balances taken care of prior to graduation.
Sincerely,
Shelly Petrusch

Thank you, Ms. Sullivan!
For a quarter of a century, our school halls have echoed with the sound of music—steady, graceful, and filled with emotion. Behind that sound, often just out of the spotlight but never out of mind, has been our extraordinary accompanist, Ms. Sandy Sullivan.
For 25 years, Ms. Sullivan has been the quiet cornerstone of our music program, lending not only her immense talent but also her time, patience, and heart to performances and rehearsals. Whether supporting soloists or choirs, Ms. Sullivan has brought every note to life with precision and passion. What sets her apart is not just the musical mastery, but the warmth and kindness shown to every student. Many of our students will remember her not only for the music, but for the calm encouragement before a big performance, or the cheerful presence during rehearsals.
Over the years, Ms. Sullivan has played hundreds if not thousands of pieces, supported countless students, and contributed immeasurably to the culture and spirit of our school. From the first note of the Christmas concert to the final bow at graduation, she has been there—reliable, gracious, and always giving more than required.
As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we say thank you. Thank you for your music, your heart, and your unwavering commitment. You have been the rhythm behind our success, the harmony in our community, and the unsung hero of our stage.
Here’s to 25 remarkable years—and to the legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.

Thank you, Mr. Williams!
After 30 unforgettable years of bringing music, harmony, and joy to the halls of Iron Mountain Public Schools, we extend our deepest thanks and a resounding standing ovation to Mr. Ed Williams who is retiring as our beloved choral music director.
For three decades, Mr. Williams has been the heart and soul of our schools and district’s choral program. With a conductor’s precision and a teacher’s patience, he transformed a group of voices into something beautiful—creating not only music, but memories that will last a lifetime.
Through countless concerts, his dedication never wavered. From holiday performances that filled the auditorium with warmth, to spring showcases that left us breathless, he brought out the best in every student. Whether working with beginners finding their voice or guiding seasoned singers to new heights, Mr. Williams nurtured both talent and confidence. But it was never just about the music.
It was about teaching students to listen—not just to melodies, but to each other. It was about showing up, working hard, and lifting your voice, even when you're unsure. It was about creating a place where everyone had a part to sing, a role to play, and a community to belong to.
He believed in his students when they didn’t believe in themselves. He encouraged excellence with kindness and passion. His legacy is not just found in the music room, but in the hearts of hundreds of students who learned what it means to work together, to express themselves, and to find joy in creation.
As he takes his final bow from the conductor’s podium, we are filled with gratitude. The notes may fade, but the impact remains—echoing through our school, our community, and our memories.
Thank you, Mr. Williams, for every lesson, every rehearsal, every moment of magic. Your dedication, talent, and heart have made our world more beautiful.
May your next chapter be filled with as much harmony as you’ve given to us.

Bravo!
Our 5th-12th grade Spring Chorus Concert was an unforgettable celebration of talent, teamwork, and pure joy! Every student absolutely shined on stage — their hard work, dedication, and passion for music truly paid off. The harmonies, the solos, the energy... it was magical from start to finish!
A huge THANK YOU to our amazing chorus director Mr. Ed Williams, accompanist Sandy Sullivan, page-turner Mrs. Renee Yake, supportive staff, and all the families who came out to cheer on our young performers. Your love and encouragement mean the world.
If you were there, you know how special it was — and if you missed it, don’t worry, we’ve got photos available here.
Bravo to all our singers, including soloists Quyen Tran and Cooper Peterson! You made us so proud.
