Section 101 of the State School Aid Act (MCL 388.1701) requires that school districts offer at least 1,098 hours of instruction as well as provide a minimum of 180 days of instruction each school year. The state of Michigan grants six “forgiven” days and the equivalent hours toward the day and hour requirements. However, due to the number of weather occurrences causing school closings and delays this school year, the Iron Mountain Public School district has exhausted and is over all the allotted “forgiven” days and hours.
Therefore, IMPS will be making the following schedule change for Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
- Students and staff are expected to attend a full day of school on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in lieu of a previously scheduled half-day for students and half-day professional training for teachers.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
