  • Welcome, Ms. Yoder!
May 20, 2025 · Iron Mountain Public Schools

    Welcome, Ms. Yoder!

We are excited to introduce Ruthie Yoder, the newly hired Administrative Assistant at North Elementary School. A 2008 graduate of Kingsford High School, Ruthie followed her passion for office work by enrolling at Bay De Noc Community College, where she earned her Office Assistant certification in 2010. After a short stint living in Green Bay, Ruthie returned to her hometown, drawn back by the community she loves. Over the past 15 years, she’s built a strong career in customer service and management—all right here in the Iron Mountain area.

Outside of work, Ruthie is happiest in the great outdoors. She enjoys camping, hiking, hunting, and especially mountain biking with her husband. Summer weekends often mean rock hunting adventures under the stars with their two boys—a family favorite!

Ruthie also has a special connection to Iron Mountain Public Schools. Her beloved grandmother, Audrey Dallapiazza, graduated from Iron Mountain High in the 1950s. Ruthie grew up on her stories of the North Side, filled with community pride, tradition, and laughter.

Welcome, Ruthie! We're so glad to have you as part of the IMPS family.

May 20, 2025 · Iron Mountain Public Schools

    Welcome, Ms. Grenier!

We’re excited to welcome Alena Grenier as the new Guidance Office Administrative Assistant at our downtown campus! A proud Mountaineer alumna, Alena graduated from Iron Mountain High School before earning her Bachelor of Science in Health and Fitness Management from Northern Michigan University.

Her career path has included leadership roles at fitness centers throughout Illinois and time as an event manager at St. Norbert College in Wisconsin. Most recently, Alena worked with Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Schools, further strengthening her ties to local education and the community.

Alena loves spending time outdoors and staying active. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her enjoying nature or making memories with her family.

Her roots with Iron Mountain Public Schools run deep—not only is she a graduate, but her father also served as a teacher and principal within the district. We’re thrilled to have Alena back and part of the IMPS team!

    Track and Field Day Tomorrow

    Dear families,

This is a reminder that Track and Field Day for 2nd through 6th grade students is tomorrow at 12:00 PM, Mountaineer Stadium. You are invited to attend. The weather is expected to be partly cloudy with temperatures in the mid-seventies, so please dress your child appropriately for outdoor activities and make sure they bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Refreshments will be available for parents and for 5th and 6th grade students to purchase at the concession stand. However, 2nd through 4th grade students are not permitted to leave the event area to visit the concession stand, so we ask that you do not send them with cash. Instead, ensure they are well-prepared with everything they need for the day, especially water.

We’re looking forward to a fun and active day with our students!

    Seniors' last walk

Today, our seniors took their last walk through the Downtown Campus and North Elementary School—retracing the very halls where their educational journey began.

From wide-eyed kindergarteners to confident graduates, they've grown into young adults ready to take on the world. As they passed familiar classrooms and waved to their former teachers, there were smiles, tears, and so many memories.

To the younger students watching: one day, you’ll be in those caps and gowns too.

To our seniors: thank you for inspiring the next generation and showing us all how far heart, hard work, and a little bit of hometown spirit can take you.
